A number of people have been hospitalised following three separate crashes involving Dublin Bus vehicles in Rush and Dublin city. Eight people have been hospitalised following two separate crashes in Rush, Co Dublin, involving two Dublin Bus vehicles.

In the first accident, which took place just after 6.30am, a 33 bus travelling from Dublin city centre to Skerries collided with a van on Rush Main Street. Three passengers and the bus driver were treated in hospital. As a result of the accident a diversion was put in place in the village.

At around 7.45am a second bus, a 33X, travelling towards the city collided with a car on Corrs Lane in Rush on the diversion route. There were 71 passengers on board that bus. Two bus passengers and two people in the car were taken to hospital. Six of the injured are being treated in Beaumont Hospital and their condition is described as 'stable'. Main Street in Rush has since reopened to traffic.

Meanwhile, A number 16 Dublin Bus was involved in a collision with three cars on Dublin's Camden Street this morning. The incident happened just after 9am. The occupants of one of the cars were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Days? Hours more likely. An unfortunate collection of unrelated incidents or should we move this to conspiracy theorys?

Was there a piss-up last night or something? Seems very odd that 3 buses from the Summerhill depot are involved in crashes within hours of each other...

Thats what they get for rushing too much through rush during rush hour. :pac:

Jokes aside, looks like two out of the three busses were totalled today plus the 16 last week, thats three that will not be replaced.

    Good post that.

Time for Dublin Bus to start waking up perhaps. These things should not be happening.

And they are saying they are not at fault for the Luas crash ? Keep your gob shut lads if I were you.......

Jokes aside, looks like two out of the three busses were totalled today plus the 16 last week, thats three that will not be replaced.

Its not quite as bad as that.....I would suggest that all three vehicles involved since the Luas crash are eminently repairable,as evidenced by the Bus (AV266) being driven to Santry Garda Station post accident.

Even the badly damaged Luas tram 3002 is quite repairable as,similar to the buses,it is constructed on a modular basis with most of the damage being to the "Tupperware" tacked onto the steel framing.

There were times when we as a people were able to deal with such occurrences in a somewhat more robust manner.

Anybody visiting the rather excellent Arigna Colliery Visitors Centre in Leitrim will see some very interesting exhibits including a rather spectacular photo taken in the 1950`s of a Ford "Sit up and beg" Popular which was T-Boned by a Steam Train, overturned and pushed some distance along the track before the entire circus ground to a halt.

The photo shows the immediate aftermath with locals standing around peering into the Ford, now on its side...WITH THE OCCUPANTS STILL INSIDE !.
The caption describes how the car was put back on its wheels and the car driver and passenger after thanking all and sundry for their help, CONTINUED ON THEIR WAY.....as did the Train.

"Are ye right there Michael....are ye right ? "

Hard to imagine that scenario occurring today without a multi-disciplinary task-force being set up to make recommendations....
