Shares on a balance sheet

I am working on my husbands returns (still) for the cro. It's a limited company and we have €100 in shares between us. How do I reflect this on the balance sheet. I think we may have had to deposit €100 into the bank for these shares but didn't and if we don't reflect them on the balance sheet on our returns I'm sure the accounts will be rejected. So can anyone tell me what they are called on the balance sheet and what the double entry is?

    Many thanks.
