When at a taxi rank do you have to get in the first taxi in the queue, or do you have the right to choose? Asking because i always thought you had to but had a bad experience recently with a 'ahem' non local taxi driver who took a wrong turn down a one way street because he didn't know where he was going. The fair was only a couple euro more but he didn't offer to take it off!:(

You can take whatever taxi you want. If you are worried about the driver not knowing the routes you can ask them in advance.

You can take whatever taxi you want, but in fairness to avoid critism and accusations of racism ( as well as etiquette ) most ( not all ) drivers will send you to the taxi at the front, but at the end of the day it is your decision
