Neither of the DNS servers seem to be resolving names anymore.
Or maybe its just my setup is wrong.
Using: 213.94.190.194 and 213.94.190.236 as dns servers.
I've had to switch to another DNS server to get it working, I'm in Dublin 15.

I don't think it's just you, having similar issues in Kildare - probably one of the only people left using eircom's DNS at this stage to notice.

I'm using open dns and suffering from bad pings and slow speeds. I had a few problems with sites loading earlier. So it's not just their DNS having problems.

I'm using one that I have on hosted space on vps.net.
Have the browser set to use a proxy server on a VPS node.
I'd rather not give out the address since its one I have setup for myself.

I'm on Eircom, using opendns and on the same exchange as Gonzo - keep having to reload pages after clicking on a link due to timeouts.

Anyone know of any recent articles in the media on this?

Our biggest ISP is having regular, lengthy service interruptions over an extended period of time. The scale of this problem should be known. I've sent an email to the Minister responsible.

I disagree that most people will now be using OpenDNS, most people don't have a clue how to change their DNS settings.

Is there any end in sight to this? Do Eircom have a strategic plan in place or are they sitting on their hands (in relation to spending money on people and equipment) because of the change in ownership?

I've never heard of any 1st world ISP failing as regularly and as fundamentally as Eircom. Seems like last night peering to UK based sites was completely down.
