Play.com - usually dispatched in 3-5 days...15 days ago!

hi,

I ordered a boxset from play on 6/09/09 (it said ususally dispatched in 3-5 days) but the status still says 'order taken' 5 days later? The money is there on my card so no issues with that. Should I wait it out or just cancel the order?

I'd wait it out, I always thought the timings were along the lines of:

Usually dispatch within 24 hours - was in play's warehouse in Jersey.

Usually dispatch in 3-5 days - a common item which play would regularly get from the relevant media distributer/wholesaler ~ therefore an estimate.

Dispatch in 1-2 weeks - a rare item which play hope to get from their usual distributer or source somewhere else.

Anything over that - extremely rare - probably waiting to see if an item comes back into print/release therefore unlikely to get.

Have they charged your card yet? 3-5 days generally means they haven't got it in stock, and they're guessing at how long it might take to get it in. Since it's been 15 days, I'd say they're having problems. I would advise you contact them, but I don't think anyone there listens or reads.

If you're in a hurry, cancel and order elsewhere. Otherwise, it's up to you.

Thanks for the replies. I will leave the order there for now but if I see the item in stock elsewhere, I might cancel.

By the way, its Greys Anatomy Seasons 1-3, so by chance if you see it somewhere cheap, let me know. I will have a look tomorrow sometime. Thanks again.

You could try hmv.com and buy each series seperately - £61.47 delivered.

Play are usually super quick, but sometime delays. They are great if something doesn't come. Contact them and they'll send you another
