    Hi

I sent my partner into maplin to pick up a couple of 4k7 resistors for my alarm system. I am adding a pir to a zone. The guy in maplin gave her one of these

    hxxp://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2181

They are very big and obously not the same as the normal resistors I would use on the system. But they are 4k7 although 10watts.

Any way any help much appriciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Ger123,
These are not for use on hkc system so bring them back and get maplins to exchange them for you.
You dont need to use the resistors to wire a pir into a hkc system unless your planing on sharing a cable off another sensor or pir. If your using a 6 core cable you would use two for power, two for alarm and two for tamper. If your using 4 core cable you do need the resistors..
