Netbook/small notebook

    Hi,

I was considering getting either a netbook or small notebook. I plan on getting a Dell M6400 Covet or similar in roughly a years time and have a desktop I am very happy with at the moment but Im in my final year in college and was looking to get something for research, to type bits of my thesis and go online since I wont be home as much as I normally am.

I am looking to spend a maximum of about 400 but preferably below 300 on it. I have used an Asus EEE PC 701 in the past and found the screen is a little to small for me as I am used to sitting a few inches in front of a 22" monitor so between 9 and 13/14 would be better.

I would rather stay away from vista and linux and go for either XP or Windows 7 if that is a possiblity. I would if possible as well like to run photoshop/gimp and possibly illustrator. Not a nessecisty but it would be nice as I use these for college as well as Solidworks and Cinema 4d which I know are a bit heavy on the memory/graphics. As I said these are not a nesscesity but would be nice.

I have a 300GB WD passport for storage so that is not a big issue.

    Any recommendations?
