Theres a link to a list on the arts page of the nuig website, under 'First Year Student Information'. They should have sent you an e-mail about it?

Yeah, you get an email to your NUIG mail. I got mine on Friday. Haven't heard back from my advisor yet though.

I filled out the advisor form when I went into 1st year last year. Called to her office numerous times and even emailed her a few times. In the end I went looking for her office in the Physics dept. and shoved the form under her door.
Never hear a word from her and have now started into my 2nd year.....
Doubt very much if she will be in contact this year:confused:

Ah to be honest it seems like more of a formality than anything else. My advisor didn't know anything about the form (never mind the passport sized photo that it says to attach to it) so that's a new thing.

My meeting was very short, asked about subjects, asked a few general questions, then said that I seem to know what I'm doing and sent me on my way. Not much to it really. I think it's really just a way to get people to have a "point of contact" if they need help with anything. Although my advisor knows nothing about any of my subjects, so I'm not sure he'd be much use :P

It's more important that they're also people you can go to to finalise subjects. If you haven't finalised subjects (be it with the advisor or otherwise), they'll have taken whatever subs you put down on the online application and you'll be sitting exams in those whether you're still attending them or not.
