If you are really interested I can ask my friend doing it some questions as she's doing it. Anything in particular you want to know?

hi there that would be great!

I would love to know the following: are there many mature students on the course?
Whats the timetable like ... i.e are there long days of lectures?
How many hours a week is she attending lectures?
and generally how she is finding it???

Thanks again I appreciate the help.

I haven't asked her yet but she showed me the timetable yesterday and it's fairly full on.The hours are something like:

    Mon, Wed, Thurs - 10-5
    Tues - 9-8
Fri 10-1 and 2-5 every once in a while.

There are typically four or so mature students out of the 20 in each year. In my experience there are also usually several students who have done a year or two in other courses before deciding this was for them. Then there are those of us who come straight from school. ;)

The hours in first year are pretty much as the user above said, though I don't recall having as many late mornings - it's usually 9am starts. The first semester is also alot easier than the second. You'll have approximately 35 hours in the second semester, with coursework on top of that. Labs are compulsory and you will have alot of them.

Having said all that, the course has changed this year so any information I provide you won't be 100% accurate. It's a great course, but it's not to be taken lightly. Chemistry is an absolute must have, and it really helps if you've studied biology before, though you can get through without it.

Let me know if you've any other questions. ;)

Hi, Im not sure if im supposed to post on other people's threads sorry if im not! :)
Im also thinking of applying for this course next year and would love some feedback from it. I love chemistry and biology, have always been interested in food and would like to work with people in a healthcare environment. For those reasons I feel it could be the course for me. I ve also always thought about medicine, which I know has much better job opportunities, its just such a big thing to do if you know what i mean! As you can probably guess Im confused and need to decide soon! Help!
