    Hi,

Hoping some of you WWII buffs can answer this question for me.

It's in WWII movies all the time & I'be heard of it done, but what's the name for the letter they used to write & give to their buddy to make sure the loved ones back home knew how much they meant to them in case they were killed in action ?

It's called a Death Letter, as far as I know.

I've been considering writing one: Emailing it to one person, and emailing the de-encryption password to another.

Not being funny but I think it might be a good idea to cover all bases. A handwritten letter may be more tangible to loved ones in the event of anything happening.
