Put them on yesterday - a bit fiddly, but no problems. I suspect some of the plastic nuts on them could come loose quite easily.

Didn't notice them on this morning's commute

Unfortunately, as always, you cannot rely on Ireland's weather, which has prevented me from testing their effectiveness in the rain!

@OP- what did you not like about race blades?

The big downer of these new things would be the difficulty putting them on- race blades are a 2 second clip on/off which is a big benefit for the bike they are on.

The race blades are very handy, which is good, but I didn't find their protection from wet conditions terribly good. What I didn't like was the that a lot of muck builds up on the bike and parts pretty quickly from the spray. The Crud's seem more like full lenght and in theory, would keep the bike cleaner.

Taxman had them on his lovely planetx and it was looking better than normal race blades. I don't know how well they are working though, he ll let us know i suppose :D

One of the strong points of the Crud mudguards is the pair of self centering pads which sit either side of the rim. The reviews I have read say that they work well. While I like the Race Blades, they can have a tendency to move out of line leaving you having to centre them over the tyres manually on a regular basis.

The extra length of the Crud mudguards is also an advantage although some reviews say that they are still a little too short. For a commute bike, where any amount of road spray is a real hassle, the Race Blades are not long enough.

I'm sure you won't have to wait to long to test their effectiveness - be sure to report back.
