    Right.
I am nearly qualified as an accountant, and want to emigrate pretty much straight away once i finish.
Anyone out there working abroad with Irish qualifications?
Any ideas on how to get interviews etc? At the moment i'm thinking of Canada/US.
I am going to be going alone so at the moment its a bit daunting but i have my mind made up so i'm definately off!
I'm just interested to hear any other success stories

US means green card as chances of you getting over there any other way in a permanent position are slim to say the least.

Canada have several requirements for their VISA but not random chance at least.

In both cases you would need to show how your expertise is applicable over there (i.e. are you CIMA/ACCA certified? If not you'll have problems I'd guess).

As for interviews, monster should work and there should be several other sites like it as well. Start looking around on the sites and put up your CV on them as well. No work experience and a foreign accounting system in combination would make many employeers ask why they should hire you over a local graduate though (excluding the costs for moving, having you set up with social security etc.).

    Thanks Nody

I have an honours University degree in IT and have 2.5 years working as a part qualified accountant with only 4 exams to go in CPA. I've passed al on first attempt, and i'm planning on working my a** off to get the next four done the first attempt also.
I've heard CPA have an affiliation with their canadian counterpart, so i'm hoping there are similar circumstances elsewhere. I've been onto the institute but no reply yet.
I suppose i still have so much to research, and i've also considered the possibility of bridging exams to qualify to work as an accountant abroad.
It might be worth my while looking into multinationals (next on the agenda!!) which have a base in Ireland.
    Any other ideas/comments welcome!!!!
