Hey folks, I was hoping someone on here might be able to clear something up for me regarding the new labour market activation programme.

As of last week I am taking doing a part-time course in IT tallaght under this scheme which allows people to keep receiving social welfare payments while studying. However, my JB payments are/were due to finish in three weeks. I am unsure if my presenece on this course means that I am entitled to continue receiving JB payments or whether I should apply for Jobseekers Allowance now instead.

The people in my local social services office were unsure so I plan on going to one of the larger centres tomorrow for clarification, but any insight into the matter would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Shane
