Hey, my friends and I have booked ourselves in for a night at Ross Castle in October. Haven't really heard much about it, other than that it's an old, haunted castle! Anyone ever been? Any good?

Have done two investigations there before this year, one went well, the other not so well, i'm sure you will get many replies for other people of their experiences.

its a great spot plus at €65 a head its well worth it. Despite a number of great trips i've heard a few complaints such as lots of flea bits plus groups who charge €140+.

Unfortunately I was the victim of that €140 but since then i heard that grou have reduced it to €70-80 stil steap though :(

No Ross can charge €70 when the place is in demand but groups doubling the price is a rip off.

We're not going on an investigation, none of us have experience in that field! We were just looking to do something a bit different. I read the thread (after I posted this one - sorry!) where some of you went on an investigation but I was kinda wondering what it would be like for lay-people. Spooky? A bit of craic?

Its a nice place. A good tip though is to take fresh bed sheets from the linnen closet. Most activity there has happened when people are having fun and relaxing. Thats when the ghosts try and get you.

I had booked the place in June for a friends birthday dinner and we had a great time, it has a workable kitchen so that is a great bonus. We had some strange things happen that night and everyone had a fab time so just using the castle for this was a good experience imo. I have done the investigations there also which were brillant also.

    Have fun...
