Fianlly played Corballis at the weekend. Nice course - you really need to stay on the fairways. Last 4 holes were a bit disappointing though, luckily it wasn't too busy, but I could imagine madness on the last few holes.

Played this course myself Saturday, it was my first time playing it and will definetly be my last. Thought the course was in terrible condition.

What are the new holes like?

The 4th and 6th are two short but tricky Par 3's.
The 5th is a cracker of a Par 4 that requires you to thread a drive between dunes, and then a tough approach shot to the green. It's almost as good as the 3rd hole (still one of the best in the country).
The Par 4 7th is a strange hole. There's what appears to be a post to indicate your driving line, but in fact it marks the extreme right edge of the dog-leg. The first time I played it I hit a cracking drive straight over the post, never to be seen again. The fairway drops steeply downhill, and in fact the second time I played it I got to the green with a well placed 8-iron followed by a 9-iron.

I continue to lose more golf balls on Corballis than any other course. It may be a bit quirky, but I still love the place.

Thanks. I've always liked the place, but have not played it since the changes. In fact, I only heard about the changes recently.

Those old holes in the field werne't great.
