3 mobile broadband pay as you go?

    I'm currently in the long, frustrating process of getting broadband in my home but I need something in the meantime. I was looking at 3's pay as you go mobile broadband offer and was wondering, could I just buy a 3 dongle second-hand (Was looking at the e160g), buy a 3 sim and use that for pay as you go? Or would I have to buy a new one and set up a plan or what?
