Xmas this year

I'm a wine importer/distributor and quite obviously the last two months of the year are our biggest, between a huge upswing in restaurant and retail business and the all important corporate gifting tradition.

Last year saw a huge downturn in corporate gifting (and xmas parties), and I think this year it will be virtually non existent. Can anyone give any first hand opinion on whether or not they will be doing corporate gifts this year? I'm not fishing for contacts here, I'm just trying to gauge potential.

I'm hesitant to stock up on seasonal products, yet the flipside is not wanting to get caught out and miss what little business there is. I've been fortunate in some respects this year to see a good increase in turnover but have been caught with five examinerships which have hurt cashflow/profit significantly.
