Yeah the DS version of CoD 4 played on the PS3 with a Wii-mote is class.

Call of Duty is not a tactical shooter

It depends on the specs of the pc You want to play on. There's some greats in that list, SWAT 4 and Rainbow Six Raven Shield are my two all time favorites from a few years ago.
Lately Arma II has been taking all my time, but You need a good pc to run it. Try the demo (take note, its the unpatched version and is a little buggy) and don't take much heed of the single player game, multiplayer custom missions are where the fun is.
Americas Army 3 is also very enjoyable and best thing is its completely free

Pick up a Game Of The Year edition of Operation Flashpoint for 10-15euro and includes both expansion packs (3 SP campaigns)

It's a bit old, but you should be able to crank up the graphics.
Some find it a bit of a steep learning curve, but it's got oodles of quality gameplay and set-pieces, not to mention all the community mods and add-ons available.
