Wedding in Europe: advice

Myself and my fiance would love to get married in Italy. We don't know anyone who has done this so don't even know where to start. Can anyone recommend a good company to talk to. Our ideal would be South of Italy, but if the budget does not allow it, are there other cheaper places to travel to.

Basically we would like a relaxed outdoor wedding with good local food.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

We're getting married in Italy next year. 20kms outside of rome at an organic farm. Here's the link. www.tragliata.it

If you check out www.weddingsonline.ie there are a load of people getting married in italy who'd be able to make suggestions.

I photographed a wedding in sorrento earlier this year here -- http://www.hotelantichemura.com/en/villa.htm. I knew the couple. Its was a nive place over looking the sea.

Interestingly enough I had a chat with someone at lunch time about OS weddings and she agreed that you need to be prepared for a small turnout of family and also fewer presents as people are already going to be spending 1000+ for four days to be at your wedding. Also don't expect necessarily to save money at these places charge for all sorts of things -- like 300 euro for music tax :)

wow. Both places look amazing. Re the organic farm outside Rome, did you orgniaze it directly with the venue or go through a wedding planner ? If so can you send me the details.

We booked it all directly with the place. Just found it browsing online and contacted them and they invited us over to check it out. We only had to pay for the flights and taxis. The guy there who looks after weddings is English so no language barriers. They have recommended suppliers for photos, flowers, hairdressers, etc etc. There's also a Catholic church on the grounds as well where they peform the marriage ceremony. The wedding organiser's name is Steve Gerrard and his e-mail address is infotragliata@gmail.com.

On www.weddingsonline.ie on the weddings abroad forum there is a big thread on this place.
