A lot of people get done on clearance - I know I was first time. As in keeping a door widths distance between you and any parked car on the road - my instructor never mentioned this to me during lessons.

As usual - make sure you are noticeably being observant (and I mean noticeably) left and right mirrors, rear view the whole lot.

ya if the test centre is in a mostly residential area be careful of clearnce to parked cars. otherwise relax remember your lessons and you will be fine.
Check mirrors constantly and make the head movement obvious.

a friend of mine failed his test twice in rathgar..said it was down to cyclists/ cycle lanes. and the instructer being a bit harsh. id be checking my wing mirrors like crazy.

I'd advise posting in the learning to drive forum.

As already stated MAKE IT OBVIOUS that you are looking in your mirrors to the point of being theatrical and almost making an exagerrated act of it !If stopped keep hands on steering wheel-youre meant to be 'in control' of the vehicle even if rear ended by a bus !!!Dont go too slow if on 'clear open road' -maybe not too much of that round Rathgar but dont fly along at the limit beside busy footpaths etc...If you do something less than perfect early on, keep up the effort to the finish ,dont give up!Best of luck.
