Is it a good idea to get your teeth cleaned and polished before getting braces?

I'm worried my teeth will look yellow and gross if I get ceramics.

Years of tea and coffee drinking haven't been too kind of my teeth.

So, to reduce the possibility of that happening, I was considering getting a clean and polish by a dentist. Would it help / make a difference?

    What do you guys think?

not to worry. if your teeth need cleaning your orthodontist will tell you to get it done first. I think a lot of orthodontists have hygenists these days so that last minute cleanings can be done when necessary.
