My daughter has had a couple of lessons from her Dad. Got offer in work €20 for beginner lessons, went for it as she is a total beginner. Had lesson this afternoon instructor said she wasn't a total beginner and charged her €50. It was her first proper lesson - I think this is a bum deal any suggestions as to where she goes now?

You actually paid him? I would have told him where to go.

    Well said.

    HI OP

Taking her on at €20 for beginner lessons, the instructor should have given her a lesson as if it was a beginner and if she was not a beginner the instructor should have said that the next lesson will not be that price as she is not a beginner.

This is what I would have done, because I am a nice guy and not a scam artist like the instructor you got.

If he/she is on the RSA List report him/her to the RSA, if he is not a qualified RSA ADI him/her to the gardai as it is illegal for him/her to charge for lessons.

    Regards

Well he has some cheek. I'm assuming she won't be going back? For the sake of €30 he's lost much more money from her repeat business.

Thanks for the replies - unfortunately we were not at home at the time so sadly she did pay him but wont be going back, has removed all his leaflets from work and told all her friends so since yesterday he is wondering why he has a few cancelled lessons!

To find and take a positive from whole experience - her confidence has shot up at being told she is not a beginner!!!

    Thanks again
