Canon 450D - where to buy?

So I've made the decision on what camera I want - a Canon 450D.

I am struggling to decide where to buy it - either offline/online and where in either case.

I have been advised by some SLR-owning friends to avoid buying online as despite being cheaper, the warranty with Canon products is often country specific so if I ever have a problem with it I will have to send it back to where it was shipped from.

The only offline deal I've been tempted by thus far was from Con's Cameras in Dublin 2. Camera, case, 2GB memory card, 1 free damp dusting, lifetime free dry dusting, free replacement camera if my one needs to be sent for repairs & an intro lesson on the basics of the camera for shy of €699.

    What should I do?

flying through a UK airport anytime soon? Dixons Tax Free has the 500D for approx. €620. (http://www.dixonstaxfree.co.uk)

And you could prbably get the 450D cheaper. Just call them to find out price.

I bought mine on eBay in March from the seller egadget. No problems with it at all and it cost me £460 which worked out at about €520.
I would have liked to buy from a shop in Ireland for the support and service but at that price I had to buy online.

was going to buy online but prefer to know i can get support and service if anything goes wrong!

I'd go with macsweenys too. Much more helpful in my experience. When i dealt with conns they were a nightmare.
