ash leaves and branch in my cockatiel cage

    Hi can anybody tell me if it is safe to put a ash branch with leaves into my cockatiel ?

    Mountain Ash or otherwise known as Rowan tree branches are fine.

    Apple and bamboo are safe as well.

    Just make sure the branches haven't been treated with any chemicals and you give the branches a scrub beforehand even with some hot water and vinegar or you can bake them in the oven to kill off any mites etc. Freezing them should help kill off any mites as well.

    Just planted some hazelnut trees (dirt cheap as well) have a rowan but it's only starting to grow a bit not so haven't tried it out yet our tiel loves apple branches.

    Thank you, I put an ash branch in the cage and he loved it just wasnt sure
