Got a Macbook today and am trying to figure it out. When I connected my iPhone it copied all the contacts onto the Macbook and deleted them off the phone! I have sorted this problem now but the Apps have also disappeared from the phone and I don't know where they're gone!

    ANy suggestions...?

If they haven't been synced to the applications section in iTunes then they're lost. You obviously didn't have any applications in iTunes and if it's set to sync, it'll sync whatever's there....including nothing. The best thing to do is re-download your apps, in iTunes, with the iTunes account you used to download them in the first place, that way you won't have to pay again for previously purchased apps, and then do a sync with your phone.

In iTunes 9, go to file> add folder to library, point it to your apps folder and you'll get your apps back without having to d/load them all again.
