today i was shopping and met a family that in our area are know as totally stuck up, not very nice people, think they are better than everyone else even though they are a normal bungalow living family. they just have the attitude they are above eveyone else. Daughter was part of in 'in crowd' in school also. Anyway when i met them i just got toally nervous, couldnt smile and just went red. i felt so inferior and crap. It made me feel pathetic to be honost - it put me in a bad mood for a while. i was shaking even and couldnt catch my breath. was it a panic attack? what is wrong with me?

Could be the guilt of feeling negative towards an otherwise perfectly normal family of people that you don't know enough to judge like you have.

Or perhaps you have an inferiority complex. To get over this, you'll need to build up some self-esteem. One good way to do this, and be more confident about yourself, is to stop judging other people. When you do, you automatically think that others are judging you, which will knock your confidence.

its not guilt as i do know them enough to know what they are like. I think its the self esteem thing - i just dont really know how to build it :( i guess im known as quiet and shy and its a label i dont like. but if im with people that dont really know me then im not so self conscious.
