Anyone know if you do a change of ownership on a pre 1987 (1983) motorbike with the old style log book (the brown one), does the new owner get the old book sent to him or do they get a new style VLC.

but don't send the book to the Dept of Environment in Shannon as you would with a VLC, change of ownership with the brown books is dealt with by your local motor tax office

Yup, old style log book and an RF100 form straight to your local tax office. They just update their systems and give you a stamp/signature and change of ownership done on the spot.
