first year looking for accomodation

    hi everyone so im a first year lad in corp. law and am currently in digs in salthill (yes i know not the smartest move!) im from kildare and hadnt a clue how far salthill actually is from the college!, just wondering is there anyone out there with a room vacant in or around the newcastle area. or any first years still looking for a place, ive put my name down on the waiting list for corrib but sure no harm in asking around

    you should look at the notice boards in the uni particurally around the entrace under the library near registration...

    the classifieds section on www.sin.nuigalway.ie/boards

    there is an accomodation office at aras ui cathal and there is bound to be a few things stuck up on a notcied board there.

    try the advertiser form thurs too

    If you're going to be saving a substantial amount of money by living in Salthill, get a bike! The cycle from Salthill to college is much easier than the walk.

    That being said, if you don't stand to save some money, there should be plenty of places. Even if they ask for females or mature students, ring them up. There's a high possibility that landlords are desperate for tenants at this stage.

    i was looking to change accommodation (not anymore though) and i emailed around and got offered a twin room in woodquay.
    i live in woodquay also and its only 2/3 songs on an ipod away from college, its a fine walk like! I'll give you the email address in a private message incase your interested and if not, then no harm! oh btw its €50 a week

    was i chattin to ya the last day?? this is smudge..i met someone that was livin in digs in salthill..cant remember who tho haha..anyway if ur stuck i mite have a double room for ya..its in eyre square..its 70 a week..im just waitin on another person to get back to me

    thanks everyone for the help, got sorted staying in a house in newcastle. absolutely love the college, dont know if people in another college would have been as helpful and sound as here, cheers

    Di u find someone yet as im still looking for a place?!?!? eyre square sounds very handy since iv been walking from the station to college the last two weeks

    I have my room in corrib village still to let so anyone interested let me know. They're looking for someone to take it asap and my housemates are dead sound. It's a double room with it's own en-suite and it's in one of the best apartments.
