Have to say that man is some gentleman, from my point of view you would listen to him all day.

And he is 79 years of age!!! Incredible.

    61 All-Ireland finals.

And his daughter is his side kick... nice :)

Couldnt agree with you anymore, comes across so well and so easy to listen to.

Would love to have a chat with him.

Btw does anyone go to Croker and listen to him on the wireless while watching matches?

Ive done it for the last 6-7 years and couldnt enjoy a game without it

Yep, MOM on the headphones and me at the match, great. Also if watching on telly, the headphones go on. Ger Canning brings no excitement or flavour of a match to anyone watching.

May MOM entertain us for many more years to come on the radio.

I found the short clip of him commentating at the match really interesting. Couldn't believe how animated he was during it, you can just see how passionate he is about the GAA.

    He's amazing for his age.

If I ever make it to that age, I hope I look half as good!

That was interesting, up out of seat!! Its no wonder the man has so much passion when commentating, long may it last.

Dont bring the headphones but love listening to him. Met him a few times and he is so nice, calm and a real gentleman.

First time I really listened to him was back in 1985 on a carferry between Rosslare and Le Harve. Dublin playing Mayo and Micheal describing a free Barney Rock was taking. It felt like the deck of the St. Patrick was Croke Pk such was the description we got oh and a wonderful goal from Padraig Brogan.

Good Health to you Micheal and many more years at the top......

He always adds something to a game with his commentary. A lovely man too. He has a pure passion for the game which is wonderful to listen to.

I saw him at an all Ireland club football Semi, rathnew were playing some ulster team in Longford. 'twas brilliant top see him in full flow in the flesh.

I'm too young to remember Micheál Ó Heir, but I thing MÓM's voce is more melodic, from the clips I've heard of MÓH
