I wasn't sitting properly for it but I could only lift my right hand up about 2 inches for thirty seconds. Felt everything else getting mad floaty too. Would say another time it might work.

I just tried it there, I was able to stand up and all that, but my arms feel kinda heavy now, and my back is sore...like i was bending down or something

I might be imagining it, but...I feel like I am getting a bit heavier every minute.
I can still stand, but I feel heavy

My cat was sitting on my lap and purring away so that may have kinda affected it.

Worked so much better for me that time was a flippin brill feeling, could just get my bum off the chair but only by using my arms, my legs from the knees down had no real feeling in them...:)

Sounds mad. I tried to move my arms and for a moment they wouldn't. Very enjoyable show and it's not often I'd want to watch the same programme an hour later.

Didn't work... I wasn't impressed when I saw the huge amount of people standing up on the show.

It worked on me and two others in a group of 6. Was a strange feeling.

It didn't work on me but I never really thought it would which is probably why it didn't.
    A vicious circle.

Didn't work for me either and 2 others that were watching with me. Did feel strange and heavier but maybe that was just because I was hoping for that.

Nothing here either, and i took it quite seriously. I'm assuming there was actually nothing hidden in the video, but the effect that some people felt was a combination of:

    1) friday night
    2) Sitting for the most part of an hour
    3) stress of being in an unnatural stance while not being able to move much
    4) The rush from hoping it will work
    5) adrenaline from the fear that something will happen, especially having seen the bad reactions people had video just before hand.

Not sure that it would stick people to a chair, but i'm sure it would make them feel heavier, or not in great control of their bodies.

For me it was similar to a feeling I sometimes get when I'm almost asleep. I want to move, but it's as if I'm putting so much effort into wanting to move that I'm putting none into actually moving. Dunno if that makes sense outside my mind. :P

Sounds interesting. I thought his show was disapointing. It was all leading up to a mediocre hypotism whhich could have been organised better.

i think its building up to something bigger.
    edit:
    new theory though..
    Last night, they had 50k people ring in stuck according to Derren. now this is almost definitely exaggerated but;
the last show is a casino heist, and he said some unwitting person at home would become involved. i'm wondering is the whole thing a grooming exercise for this. last night he auditioned the whole country for the most suggestable people he could find. Off air on phone, he can find out if they bought his bull**** statistics explanation last week. the lotto thing is a convincer "you can win with me".
so now he can start narrowing down to a few people who are very subceptable to hypnosis, and are a blind believer in authority figures and fake statistics.

I might be totally wrong, but it seems like it might be going in the direction that "the heist" did, except this time, using the tv to recruit.

Me too, Derren's all about misdirection and the bigger picture.

It could turn out there was some little thing in each show that will piece together into one big reveal in the last show....

Someone said earlier (I forgot to quote, I'm sorry) about how the video was largely irrelevant. I agree. I think it was him telling you the whole way through that you'd get stuck to your chair that made it happen. Then that video of the lines just kind of stopped you thinking about other things, but I wouldn't say the lines were doing anything.

Incidentally, even though I read his book and as such have very little faith in how truly effective hypnosis is, I was pretty determined for it to work. It didn't. Absolutely no effect whatsoever.

Ooh I like that theory! I'm definitely going to say it to people and pretend I didn't completely steal it from some bloke on boards.ie. But inside I'll feel a bit guilty, so it's ok.
