Who would win in a fight ( to the death ) between Spider-Man and Brundle-Fly? Feel free to suggest other Fight Club contenders.

You do realise this is the Biology & Medicine forum? Too many blows to the head?

This is such an awesome thread that we have to give the OP a few hours to justify keeping it here. I hope he/she does, too :P

I put it to you, Mr. Ruu, that the evaluation of newly emerging species is the forefront of modern biology. Good day, Sir.

Well, I believe that the particular genetic modification involved in Spiderman's acquisition of powers makes him the more robust candidate.

Wait til some poor unfortunate comes on* with a bad back looking for medical advice and gets his thread locked and then sees what stays open!:D

    * without reading the charter of course

Personally I think Wonder Woman would kick ass with all of them - is she part of the clique? That lariat would have them in knots in no time.

Heh, what about doomsday, the thing that kills him makes him immune to it next time around : you can't trump genes like that!

I thought there was only one - the friendly neighbourhood kind!

    Am I mistaken?

May I remind you all, Gentelmen, that this is not a Marvel comic thread. The Spider-Man in question is merely a paradigm for genetic mutation, in this case a cross between a Homo Sapien and an Arachnidium. Since one is viewing a Biology and Medicine Forum I hope I am safe in assuming that a definition for a Brundle-flyus will not be required.
    Kindest regards,
    MrsKalabash.

    Chuck Norris.

Out of the original pairing though I'd back Brundlefly, he had evolved to more of a pure animal than Spiderman, whilst retaining higher logical functions, therefore could fight without compassion, avoiding the inevitable moment when, overcome by compassion for his enemy, Spiderman lowers his defences and leaves himself vunerable to attack.

well based on this not being the pansyass movie version of Spiderman, more of man/spider hybrid thing, I'm going for spiderman ftw.

Increased agility and speed coupled with spidey senses should see him through. Spiders are more of a natural predator than flies too, so that has to have an efect on the outcome.

Ah I had forgotten about that MrsKalabash, I must concede defeat there. :)

Chuck Norris crosses the street for no man.... except Cockpuncher.

Sirs, to my deepest regrets a rift has occurred due to the escalation of a once friendly dispute between colleagues. The row sparked from which would win in a fight between a Silver-back Gorilla, a Grizzly bear and a Siberian Tiger. I am in urgent need of response as this fight is veering towards thumb-biting and glove-slabbing. If I may have your measured responses, Gentlemen, I would be much obliged.
    Kindest regards,
    MrsKalabask
