Ulster Bank ATM Withdrawl charges abroad?

    Hey guys,

    How much do Ulster Bank charge for withdrawing money with a laser card in Europe or Denmark to be precise?

    Open to correction here, but is it not a % of the transaction amount?

    UB probably don't charge anything, the fees will come from Cirrus/Maestro/Link or whatever other 3rd party is involved in you using a foreign bank machine. Check what symbols are on your card.

    It's normally a percentage, subject to a minimum charge.

    Yup. I've heard that UB dont charge anything.

    When I was in Croatia and Bosnia I was charged €3 per transaction on a UB maestro laser card.

    It is free to withdraw money from ATMs in the EuroZone (you will need the Cirrus logo on your card). EU Regulation 2560/2001 states that you should be charged the same amount in the EuroZone country as you would be at home - basically its free in countries that use the euro (charged what you are charged at home).

    Since the currency of Denmark is the Danish krone, you will be charged a Cirrus fee of 2% (min fee 3 euro, max 12 euro).
