This isn't really a bargain alert.

The NC10 from Elara is €336.56 including 2-4 day delivery to Ireland.
The NC10 from Ebuyer is €309.75 (£278.78) including 3 day delivery to Ireland.

Buying from Ebuyer saves €26.81 over buying from Elara. Same product, same delivery time.

Unfortunately we cant do much about the difference in VAT rates :(

Do ebuyer charge 21% when you deliver to Ireland? Maybe we should move to the UK and sell into Ireland :P

Also is there a way to tell how much they actually charge you in Euros i.e exchange rate or is it an estimate.

Considering this is an Irish forum, it is a bargain alert. Komplett have it on sale for €345, while Elara have it for €326. Also, there are a lot of people trying to help out the Irish economy by buying Irish, so while eBuyer may be cheaper, you will find Irish people more willing to buy Irish in these current times.

Or maybe they should be more competitive and match the UK price? That way I'll be happy to 'help out' the Irish economy.

I can't speak for Elara, but maybe they'd make little to no money on each NC10 if they sold it for the same price as eBuyer? Only Elara can answer that. I do agree that it would be great if UK prices were reflected by Irish companies; it's time the likes of the Dixons group, Harvey Norma et al, stop wasting consumers' time with "sales", when really they've either discounted a price by a nominal amount or they're lying through their teeth on the sale price, as it was the same before.

    At a conversion rate of 0.90 ?

According to RTE News, the wholesale exchange rate for GBP/EUR was 0.89 last night. The retail rate will be nearer 0.87.

That ebuyer offer is still cheaper but if you have a problem with the unit and need to return/exchange it, you might wish you had bought locally.

Not me. Times are hard. I can't afford to throw €26.81 down the drain just for "buying Irish". If you can, that's your business.

At xe.com's rate at the time of posting.

Ebuyer returns are arranged online, just like Elara returns.

I think we are pretty much there abouts compared to the ebuyer price Ex VAT on the NC10, its the difference in VAT that throws Irish prices off i.e 6.5% diff

Why is the nc10 more expensive? The NC10 is end of life, where as the n130 is relatively new. The n130 has exactly the same specs, same processor, same RAM same HD, even a 6 cell battery. And the NC130 has an improved touch pad. Why anyone would go for the nc10 over the n130 is beyond me.
    Perhaps i've missed something?

Good point. In fairness to Elara, their N130's a very well priced. I'm even tempted to go for one, less I can find it cheaper elsewhere, that is! ;)

According to Bank of Ireland £278 is €319, and that doesn't count any charges. Saving €17 instead of paying Irish wages and Irish tax sounds pretty petty to me.

    The N130 has a 4000maH battary(5 Hrs), no bluetooth and and 10.1" screen (1024X600)

    the original NC10 has 5600maH battary(7.5Hrs), blutooth and 10.2" screen (1024X640)

Think the N130 and N140 are positioned below and above the NC10 if only slightly :)

I know I'd rather fork over the extra €17 from Elara than those fecking jokers at Ebuyer!

The difference is the the price of a good Chinese take-away and a few bottles of beer versus the fecking heartache you'll have dealing with EBuyer.

I'm not one of these "best to buy Irish" consumers, but I'd take my chances with Elara over EBuyer anyday!

Want me to link to the experience I had with my HD monitor ordered from Ebuyer to prove their failings?

    .... never again!

Elara's price for the N130 is €297.17 delivered.

    Ebuyer want €303 (£274.11).
    Dabs want €317.50.

Elara wins for the N130 anyway.

I wasn't referring to myself, I was merely pointing out that Irish people, of which some have commented on Boards, are more than happy to buy Irish, even if it means paying a little bit more in return.

And with Elara you can collect from parkwest as well. I wish there wasn't that 1 euro charge for collection though.

I thought it was only 1 cent?

Thanks, you've saved me the trouble; I had intended to add the word "some", but for some reason left the word out.

I am surprised people are not giving Elara more credit for such an effort to be competitive. Elara does not have anything close to the economies of scale that the UK online shops have. To get to the level of prices in this offer has to be damn hard, and they are probably also paying more for the machines.

No, it is one euro. I just checked my order confirmation to be sure.

I just checked my previous orders and checked their current delivery/collection charges. It appears that their collection charge was previously 1 cent, however, they have increased it to 1 Euro since the last time I ordered from them almost a year ago.
