Whistle are a group of (usually) 4 musicians who like to get together and play some tunes of our liking once or twice a month.

Music is generally whatever we feel like playing, nothing is ruled out, and have a few of our own songs to play as well. Artists we cover include Tom Waits, Crowded House, REM, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Green Day, Johnny Cash, Counting Crows, Pernice Brothers, Bob Marley, Waterboys, Teenage Fan Club etc., etc. Its a bit of a mixed bag really.

With regard to our current set up, we have drums, guitars, mandolin, accordion and harmonicas, and a lot of the emphasis is on getting good vocal harmonies in the songs we choose.

We are all in our 40s (note well!) and based in Dublin 15 and Dublin 9 and have a regular gig in a local pub.

We are looking now for a bassist or a keyboard player to fill out the lower end of the sound a little and expand the range of songs we can cover. Someone who can sing would be preferred, but its not mandatory. Own gear & transport though is vital, as is willingness to meet for a rehearsal/jam session on a regular basis.

We have no intentions of storming the musical world or getting to the top of the charts (been there done that), this is purely for the sheer enjoyment of playing, so if you want something serious, its not for you. On the other hand, we have a lot of nights lined up from here to Christmas, so we need someone who will turn up when they are expected to.
