i am in the planning stage of building a new house and would like to know all the options open to me in reference to the renewables contribution of the building regs.

I am aware of solar, pellet and gasification boilers for heating water. What else is available?

I am going to the ploughing match next week and would like to get as much information as i could when i am there.

    you are required to provide
10kwhr of 'heat' energy per m2
    or
4 kwhr of 'electrical' energy per m2

    common renewable heat sources:
    solar collectors
heat pumps with a Coefficient Of Performance (COP) of over 3
    wood burning stoves or boilers

    common renewable electrical sources:
    photovoltic cells
    wind turbines
