    Scarlets

    D Evans, S Lamont, G Maule, J Davies, M Jones (c), R Priestland, M Roberts, I Thomas, K Owens, R Thomas, L Reed, D Day, S Easterby, D Jones, D Lyons.

    Replacements: P John, E Phillips, D Manu, V Cooper, R Pugh, L Williams, D Newton.

Munster (squad) (team to be announced today)

    D Barnes, F Jones, S Deasy, D Hurley, D Howlett, B Murphy, T Gleeson, L Mafi, J Manning, T Morland, P Stringer, M Horan, T Buckley, J Brugnaut, J Hayes, D Fogarty, D Varley, M O’Driscoll, D Ryan, A Quinlan, B Holland, T O’Donnell, N Ronan, D Leamy, J Coughlan.

Red on Red. Easterby's back for the Scarlets, no doubt hoping to make an impact against his old sparring partners. Another tough game for the Munster men, very capable looking Scarlets outfit.

Munster: 15 Felix Jones, 14 Doug Howlett, 13 Barry Murphy, 12 Lifeimi Mafi, 11 Denis Hurley, 10 Jeremy Manning, 9 Toby Morland, 8 Denis Leamy, 7 Niall Ronan, 6 Alan Quinlan, 5 Mick O'Driscoll (capt), 4 Donncha Ryan, 3 John Hayes, 2 Damien Varley, 1 Julien Brugnaut.
    Replacements: 16 Denis Fogarty, 17 Tony Buckley, 18 Billy Holland, 19 Tom O'Donnell, 20 Tomas O'Leary, 21 Scott Deasy, 22 Tom Gleeson.

Interesting to see O'Leary back from injury. That Munster front 5 is missing 4 starting players but I don't think the Scarlets are looking great in those positions. I'll be interested to see how Morland gets on, he seems to be pretty good.

Good to see Brugnaut starting. And Morland. This is from the IRFU directive that Irish internationals cannot play more than 6 games out of a 9 game cycle. Therefore Mc Gahan is resting Horan and Stringer for Leinster, Northampton and Treviso. Would expect to see Leamy rested nxt week. An interesting looking side.

+1, want a look at Brugnaut. Hope TOL gets some game time.

Honestly think it's a mistake rushing TOL in so fast.

yep, you may be right Stev_o, thought a 'gentle' 10-15 min run-out towards the end? Hmmmm maybe not....

I dont think he'll get any game time to be honest unless there's an injury. Only on the bench due to Stringers minor injury by all accounts.

That was incredibly harsh on Donnacha ryan there. It was def not a yellow. The scarlets player barely touched off his wrist and whats more he jumped into Ryan. Maybe a peno, def not a yellow.

Been a scrappy first half but I still feel Munster have the winning of this one.

Don't write us (scarlets) off just yet, we're looking good in the counter and.... Munster score, bollox!

a bit of luck there with the last score. It didn't look like morland had control of the ball but i suppose he had downward pressure? Absolutely woeful kick from Manning. I really feel he offers Munster nothing. Surely they can find someone better than him, even as a 3rd place outhalf

    Awful miss on the conversion.

Terrible amount of handling errors by Munster.

When he's good, he's good, but when he's bad......:(

    We need Warwick back.

It was no more than they deserved - a fairytail ending just when the Welsh fans were starting to sing. He,he,he...:D

By the skin of their teeth, but a win is a win, especially away from home.

    G'wan Munster!

I'm a Munster man myself, but fitzgerald and J. Murphy are still ahead of him.

Good win for Munster but if Manning had taken his kicks at goal we would have won it well before 78 minutes, 3/7 is not acceptable.

I presume (at least I hope!) that the Hurley for Ireland comment was in jest.

Good win for Munster tonight they were really up against it for a while, good performance from the scarlets, they seem to be going forward and bar terrible kicking from Priestland (although the same could be said for Manning) would have won. Im a big fan of both roberts at sh and john davies the oc.

Good to see TOL back aswell, does this mean Morland will not play again I wonder?

I have a feeling it was a joke. Hurley should never ever be let near an Irish jersey again.

Half a joke I imagine, though Hurley does look a lot more comfortable on the wing and has played well in the 3 ML games so far.

Scarlets are better then two seasons ago but they still have the same problems , play like a sevens team but lacking physicality and mental fortitude. I dont think any of the Welsh teams are going to make the playoffs this year(maybe the Dragons).

Steady on. To not make the playoffs, either Ulster or Glasgow (presumably) would have to finish above every Welsh team.

Of course it was in jest but seriously he has improved a lot since his move to the wing and seems to have sorted out his issues under the high ball. Winger suits him more IMO. Big strong ball carrier with good pace.

A win is a win and probably as deserved as Llanelli's would have been, some terrbile kicking from both outhalves. Ryan's YC was as harsh as I've seen.

I thought we had lost it when we were turned over a meter from the line but by Llanelli not making touch it cost them the game. :D

I've watched a lot of rugby today and enjoyed it all but when you compare this morning's crushing 33-6 defeat of the Wallabies by the All Blacks with anything from the Northern Hemisphere it's like a different sport. Check out http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/ for the highlights - three stunningly good tries especially the Nonu one, the sheer raw physical power is mind blowing - what do they feed these guys on?

Edinburgh,Munster,Leinster and Glasgow though I do think The Dragons will push Glasgow hard.

Cardiff- concentrated on HC last season, same again?
    Scarlets-very average
Ospreys- awful coaching structure, will lose 12+players for internationals
Dragons-Runt of the litter but with the best chance in my book.

Let's be fair to the lad he has been majorly unimpressive in the past but he has put in a number of good showings now since his move to the wing in the Churchill Cup.

We've all given him excessive stick when he's messed up but he has really worked on his game (he must have read the rugby forum) and scored 2 tries tonight...one being a fantastic game-winning individual effort. Let's try encourage a lad who when you look at it actually has all the attributes to make a fantastic strong winger in future. Hopefully he can get the head right too (as he seems to have worked on).

    Denis Hurley...well played tonight!

I think ospreys will pick up their game and qualify, just.munster and leinster will def make playoffs, and probably edinburgh.ulster really should have beaten edinburgh last night, threw it away in first half.i agree about new zealand being very good, shows how good south africa are though, one of the best rugby teams ever??not far off anyway!

Yeh always thought Hurley got harsh stick from this forum but to be fair its great to see him improving!

I would hope Fionn Carr is comfortably ahead of Hurley in the eyes of the Irish management at the moment. His 3 tries already this season mean he's probably going to be up there on the try scoring charts again. Hurley's a good player though, hopefully he'll push on and improve.

Well said, credit where credit is due. He fielded high balls well, and ran hard, well played hurley.
