hi, newbie here - i'm not even sure if this is being posted in the right place or not - does anyone know of a place in dublin which repairs small appliances? my steam iron stopped working yesterday - it's only one year old and i don't want to have to replace it just yet.

There was a place in Harolds Cross Dublin 6 near the near where the classic cinema was, not to sure if it's still there. It might be worth getting a new one a repair could be pricey. Let us know how you get on.

    try www.wmc.ie
It's a place in Clondalkin for all appliance parts.
I went through three washing machines before I discovered it and now I do all the repairs mayself.

You could try Mastercare out in Kilbarrack, got 3 GHD's repaired for the daughter there

I doubt if it will be economic to repair something like an iron. Do yourself a favour and buy a Rowenta, I recently retired my first one after 30 years of trouble-free service, not because it packed up but because the plaited power cord was badly frayed from rubbing against the ironing table! I had some gift vouchers so I treated myself to a new one.

I've been impressed by this guy so far, as he's been the only one of the many electrical repair shops who's shown an interest at having a go at repairong a george Foreman grill. All he rest have said "Too much trouble, just get a new one"

The OP posted that 5 1/2 years ago and hasn't been seen or heard of since (one post wonder!). I'd say he's well sorted by now.

You'd certainly like to think so! :-)

I had real difficulty in finding any information about repairing George Foreman grills, and was impressed that this guy was enthusiastic about the challenge. The post was for future users rather than the OP.
