    Hi everyone,
I'm a sort of beginner skier and currently in New Zealand where the season is almost at an end.
I was thinking of buying a good pair of ski boots here and was wondering if some of you could give me an idea of Irish prices?
I believe it may be much cheaper to buy here, ie loads of sales, rather than when I return home.
    Thanks,
    DB

Depends what you are looking at. Below is a break down. Most important thing is not the price, But GETTING THE RIGHT BOOT.

Get a good fitter, tell them what you want and listen to his reccomendations and give him plenty of feedback on how each boot feels.
Go for footbeds you will thank me!

The Salomon X wave 8, Atomic Hawk 8 any other make in that type of range similar to the above is a pretty good entry level boot for someone with a few weeks skiing under the belt.

Last: Make sure it is right for your feet

Flex: Make sure it is right for your size and ability

Manafacturer: Is the one that makes the best boots for you dont have any pre conceptiona bout wanting brand x etc.

Entry Level boot similar to Salomon RS (Approx €280)

Mid Level Boot Similar to Salomon X Wave 8 ( Approx €290-€350)

Top end Punter Boot similar to Salomon x wave 10 (€360-€420)

    Hi Fattes,
    Thanks for the detailed advice.
I ended up going for a pair of Salomon Impact 8 ski boots for 560 NZ dollars (E 270) plus footholds for an extra 50 euro! What you think?
The fitter was a full-time pro and my friendly ski instructor came along to keep me right.

donegalboy Congratulations on your first boots. Hope you have plenty of happy skiing in them. My first ever booths where an old version of the Impact 8's and they never let me down.

Foot beds will be a blessing and will keep the feet solid in the boots. They are a great boot to start wiht and one of the biggest sellers in Europe.

    Enjoy them!
