The 5738Z is a quality buy, although it depends on what price you are paying for it (should be around the €550 range?)!
For all their issues about build quality and customer support, Ive always found acer to give the most in terms of hardware for money. Plus it looks alot better than the Inspiron etc! There are loads of reviews on the net about it (check the stickie to find links to good review sites)

Ive wriiten a small guide to buying a laptop in this price range which will help you interpret the bold and decide if its suitable for you!

In short at this price: Solid CPU, excellent RAM, large harddrive, and the industry standard Graphics card for this price.
