Change from Undergrad => Postgrad, new username?

    Hey,

    I just registered for my first year as a Postgrad after finishing my Undergrad degree this year. They've given me a new username, basically added a letter onto my old username, which means I now have 2 @tcd.ie email accounts!

    Is this normal? I was under the impression that I'd keep the same username and email and possibly get a CS email address or something.

    I called into ISS straight after and it seemed your man hadn't encountered this before, he didn't know what to do and just passed it onto someone else so I've to wait and see if my Postgrad username can be changed.
    BTW, is there any advantage to having 2 college email addresses?

    Same thing happened to me, but I'm pretty sure you can get them to consolidate the two accounts - another girl from my BESS year is staying on for a Masters and she got ISS to keep her account the same. Didn't bother myself, just set the new one to forward to the old one, but I can't see why it'd be a problem for ISS.

    I had 2 different log ons/emails when i went from undergrad to post grad but there was a 3 year gap!

    Cool so it seems like ISS should be able to change it... I'd prefer to have just the one account and not have to type that extra letter every time I log into something in college haha :P

    I just forwarded email to one gmail account and used what ever log on college gave me
