    Got the decoys.
    Got the chest waders.
    Got the Layout blind.
    Even got the shotgun.

Now I need a decent jacket to weatherproof myself. I would like one with a generous hood, as most have small useless poxy attempts at such that make me rue parting with my money. It most definitely has to be waterproof, not water repellent. Be nice if it was warm too as I'll be at this lark in inhospitable, exposed, cold and windy spots. Oh yes, I'd like it in Mossy Oak pattern too because I think that blends in well with the foreshore here.

    What have we to recommend?

I got excellent 2 piece cama suit, pants & coat in army surplus store.
All water proof, big hood, removable inner lining so plenty warm. Not a brand name, but not cheap either. Nearly 200 quid. Take a walk into the army surplus stores & see...

    Cheers EP,

I'll be in town hopefully Sunday so I'll take a look in Army & Navy. Saw the perfect job on a UK store site, but £222 for a bloody jacket

    John
two years ago I bought the 3 in 1 waterfowl system parka from LL Bean, the fleece is second to none better than any one that I have ever seen in ireland. while you are sitting for ducks to come in on a frosty winters night with a strong breeze blowing off the Atlantic , one thing you will not worry about is the cold. In summer separate the two, wear the outer shell on its own and no matter what rain you get , whether it be a light drizzle or a thundery downpour you'll be as dry a a bone under neath
It was the best money I ever spent at $199. If your disapointed after and feel that I not telling the truth ...then I'll buy it off you ...promise :D

4gun, did you get the tall or regular size? I'm wondering, as even though I'm 6'3" American sizes can be, well, vast.

    It arrived this morning.

    It's most definitely American :D

    It fit's.

I could live in it happily :D

4wd's are very likely to bounce off me as I cross a busy road :D

It's bulky yes, but I'll never, ever, for as long as I live, be cold in it!

    Only spotted this thread now

Good Jackets make the job so much easier

I splashed out on a 4-1 Drake Waterfowl Parka during the summer and on the 1st of September I could have happily laid back and taken a snooze it was so warm and comfy.

    Well wear John
