Would seem to be an issue across the country with Eircom and anyone using an Eircom resellers service (see other threads).

Here is my trace to Inex:
traceroute to www.inex.ie (193.242.111.162), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
     1 DD-WRT (192.168.1.1) 2.081 ms 2.069 ms 2.064 ms
     2 192.168.1.254 (192.168.1.254) 3.314 ms 3.311 ms 3.307 ms
     3 * * *
     4 86.43.245.78 (86.43.245.78) 421.389 ms 423.004 ms 425.249 ms

Not exactly the same IP it chokes at, which is a bad thing, it means more and more of Eircoms network is blocked up. Im in the Trim area btw.

I too can ping www.eircom.net just fine. Can you confirm you dont have any issue during the day.. the rest of the threads here (mine included) state the problem only appears at about 4:30 (16:30) when residential usage picks up.

I have the same issue with eircom. Its fine during the day then hits around 300-400 ms on some of their 86.* routers. Its died off again now to around 200ms but seems to be a congestion issue as its only in the evenings its happening.

I can see Eircom en-forcing their caps if this keeps up to stabilise their network.

Phone Eircom and lodge an official complaint. Then contact comreg and give them the complaint reference.

Eircom will not bother their holes doing anything unless enough people complain about it.
