i've found somewhere to live in dublin, it's a bit away from college but i don't have a good feeling about it and i'm not keen on living in the house, i honestly can't put my finger on why. i brought my friend along and she said she wouldn't want to live in it either. it's owner occupied and looks ok. supposed to pay deposit tomorrow but would like to hold out for somewhere else, i've more viewings on saturday and i will commute for the time being. i know you can't be fussy when you're looking student accomm but i just have a gut feeling and if it wasn't so close to starting college I'd be still looking somewhere else. anyone been there before?

If you aren't happy about something, either raise it with the person or go elsewhere.

Note, if it is owner-occupied, you are a lodger, not a tenant. This means a different set of rights.

There is a decent chance because its owner occupied that if you talk to them and ask to live there for a week or two they will let you. just tell them before you hand over deposit that you want to move closer to college or move into a friends house and room wont be free for a while
