    Hi there

I work in career coaching so I can give you a bit of a digout if you send me on your contact details. I cant post a link to my site on this so you'll have to make direct contact.

I posted a thread " 15 Essential CV Tips" that you may find of benefit.

I was on welfare before I set up my business and I had to registrar with FAS and meet a woman about my CV etc It was kind of funny ! I dont think she had a clue! I presume you are registrared with FAS, so you can request to meet someone at any point. For the area that you are in, I would expect FAS to be your first port of call for jobs too.

No point waiting on agencies as companies arent paying the fees, especially in lower skilled roles. You need to target companies yourself.....there are lists on the Enterprise Ireland website. Somewhere to start

    Hi Op

You should be able to do a fork lift driving course if you wanted that through FAS. If you go to fas.ie and click the tab that says courses, there is a list of courses available, also because you are considered long term unemployed, there is more help for you in terms of training and job advice, I am not sure if FAS can advise you on career guidance and your CV but ask them about job seeking courses as they do advice on CVs (for free) help with interview techinques and career guidance.

    Hi Op

In some FAS offices you can walk in without an appointment and undergo a guidance interview there and then. I'm sure they could help with your CV or at least know if there's a free service in your area. I believe that if you're more than 12 months signing on there is a possibility of funding through DSFA for training courses. Apparently the day courses have bigger waiting lists than the evening courses in FAS so if you find a forklift course running at night it's likely you could do that more quickly than during the day - check their web site. Bonus: at the moment I think the evening course fees are only payable if you're NOT in receipt of a social welfare payment. Hope this helps.

If you're one year on the dole then Social Welfare should have arranged an interview for you with FÁS ages ago.
