What do you guys think of the big match on Sunday.I watched the game against Manu and thought Spurs were more than a bit short. But this is a derby match and all logic goes out the window.I am a Chelsea supporter but I have been impressed with Spurs this season.I am not a Harry fan really I thing Spurs could do better, but honestly I hope he stays.I still want Spurs to finish in the top four and I think that they can.Lets get back to the game on Sunday whats the score.I know as a Chelsea fan I am not that welcome here and should f**K off some where else. But I am very interested in reading your predictions and why you think u can win.I know Spurs v Chelsea games are always great games and anything can happen.I have been to one game and the atmosphere was brilliant.Real tension but I have always respected Spurs and sort of admire there way of playing football.I hope you guys dont think i am taking the pi*s a little bit of mild dislike is what makes us fans feel so alive in this type of game.

Look I should not be surprised no one replied I have mocked your team. This is not for Chelsea fans its for spurs fans and I am sorry, still sort of wont spurs to finish in the top 4.If only to shake up football in England but I want Chelsea to beat spurs bad, just for beating us last year and finally killing off our title chances.:D

    on a side note

Fans travelling to Chelsea for our Premier League match this Sunday, September 17, should be aware that flags bearing the word 'Yid' will be confiscated and may not be returned.
Flags and banners will be allowed, but only with appropriate wording.
As has been the case on our European travels in recent seasons, the Club will have a team of stewards at Stamford Bridge and they will assist fans where necessary.

Hope we can get at least a point for this. We were not up to scratch against Utd, so hopefully we can pull it together and get something out of this.

    1-1 i'd say.

the team should be very fresh with having 8 days off between matches. kranjcar should be more settled and jenas and gomes should be good to start . more rumours on pav leaving today in january. id much rather see keane leave to be honest.

sunday is a huge game for us .a draw would be a very good result as our next 5 games are not that hard, we could win all 5 of them. if we get thumped and outplayed on sunday then we could fall away a bit i fear

Modric and Woody in the team - we get a draw

    Without - 2-0 Chelsea..

Imagine if Chelsea were without Terry and Lampard!!

Hopefully we can field a stronger team than last Sunday, I'm not counting on a win but I think we can get a point.

    2-2

manu overran us in midfield chelski are a notch above them again at the moment it,ll be a case of batton down the hatches and hopefully get a 0-0 ,dont want to see keane starting on left in this one.

I would be happy with any sort of a draw tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭ruiseal

Harry said before the United game that he'd be happy with 4 points
    from the next two games!
I'd have taken 2 points - so now I'll settle for just one.
    2 - 2 (Defoe 2).

If Crouch starts we're fuc"§d. And if Chelsea did their homework ( which they have done ) then expect somebody to be winding Wilson up. Modric is souch a big loss for this game that I think we can forget about playing football and just look more to shutting up shop. My Starting IX would be

    Gomes ( If fit )

    Corluka King Bassong Ekkoto

    Huddlestone

Jenas Palacios Krancjar ( Cental but allowed to drift )

    Lennon

    Keane ( Free role )

    For what its worth.....

I have to agree with Crouch starting. If he does, Chelsea will win the battle as they're excellent in the air at the back. If we keep it on the ground, using Niko and Lennon, and play like we did in the first 4 games with Keane & Defoe up front, hopefully we can get something. I'd happily take any kind of draw to be honest - Chelsea have been my pick for winning the league since before it started and I don't see that chaning.

Chelsea are currently looking good for the title, so any result other than a loss would be fantastic.

My head says we'll lose but then again we got a draw there last year with a much weaker team, so if Harry get's the tactics right then don't be suprised if we get a draw.

I hope he starts with 4-4-2 and Robbie just slightly behind Defoe. Crouchy to come on in second half if we're struggling.

we still have a long way to go to match the big 4 me thinks. i know we played nice football and held our own at times but as the goals win games we fell short.

think webb bottled a pen decision at 1-0 and how was ashley cole not punished for that challange on crouch. he was looking the total opposite way from the ball and just jumped into crouch.

stil on the day chelsea scored 3 and we got..............nothing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,317 ✭✭✭Dublin Spur

I think it was a cruel scoreline
everything that could go wrong went wrong.
should have had a penno before their 2nd goal
could be argued that the defender that took Keane down should have been sent off
    then we lost ledley
    then we lost bassong

happy to be done with this fixture, they really are a horrible bunch of @rseholes.
hopfully we'll get them back in April

looking forward to the next 4/5 games.
I think we'll pick up a decent amont of points and get back on track.

    fingers crossed for ledley

our next 4 games are all winable. we need to eat burnely next sat for dinner, anything less than a win and its a disaster.

we were the better team in first half today, fell apart after king went off. we are in trouble for CB. no king, dawson, woodie, bassong. corluka is no good there and huddlestone is worse.

why is cudicini still in goal, the man is way too small to play in goals and keeps making mistakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

Bad result but still only 3 points behind utd with a few winable games ahead hopefully.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,467 ✭✭✭mushykeogh

our defence this season has been pretty ropey, thats 10 goals in 6 games, im not sure on bassong, corluka looked really slow today and we have been cruelly exposed over the last two games, interesting to see how the next few games go for us. When is woody due back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

    5 CBs crocked =/

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

corluka had a stinker yesterday, was at fault for two goals . did you see him when cole scored, he was just standing about and never looked behind him at all, terrible defending. he has had bad games against the two big teams, time to give naughton a chance i think.

woodgate is injured again, cant run at all, back to a specialist - cud b xmas now. king is out for 1-2 weeks. dawson has a chance though for saturday

Lads I think we can forget about Woody............ A good friend of mine over in the UK ( with a few small media connections ) has suggested a reason to me why certain players are always injured and its more self induced. And on another note I think its time we gave up on Ledley and called a spade a spade. We need a regular back 4 week in week out and thats never gonna happen with Ledleys dodgey knee. I love the guy and he is a fantastic centre back but this is not going to get any better. No other premier league club opperates like this just for 1 player.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

if we forget about woodie and king then we have dawson and bassong as CB's. mighty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Not particularly happy with the result but it's Chelsea in Stamford Bridge where we haven't won in 10 years so I'm not overly bothered. Chelsea will win the league anyway.

I am very worried about our centre back situation at the moment though. No word on Bassong but if he's gone, we have 4 centre halves on the treatment table and have to make do with Corluka and Huddlestone, both of whom are very slow and against a quick front line will have major problems.

I am also worried about the mental impact the last two results will have had on the team. We were on a roll, and have been brought straight back to earth with two pretty comprehensive losses. The lads really need a good result in the next game or two, 4 points minimum, to keep the momentum going.

we are level on points with liverpool and we have played united and chelsea. liverpool havent played these teams , they have played stoke and burnley both at home. we have still done very well from our opening six games. harry will keep their heads up, we need to kill PNE on wednesday night and beat burnley by at least 2 on sat. if we do that then we back on track. in my opinion dunphy got it right last night on the premership when he said "chelseas midfield are like the SAS whereas corluka and huddlestone are nothing players"

every single shot huddlestone gets on target he hits it straight at the goalie. would he ever think of going for the top corner for a change?

another bad day at the office and now we need a new defence. I agree that Huddlestone, Jenas, Corluka and Hutton are rubbish. Apparently Woodgate is miles away from being fit.

All that early season optimism seems to be evaporating quickly.
The top four are still miles ahead of Spurs. :o

    Orange pilled.

My main worry about yesterdays game is that we now have no recognised centre back defence. I think we are seriously screwed defensively now. Ledley is IMO a liability. This is the second time in 3 games that he has broken down during a match and we've had an international break in between.

Anybody know when Woody and Daws are due back ?

As for the game itself, I think we need to take a reality check and admit that we are still a long, long way off the likes of Chelsea and Man U. These are teams that are expecting to win the title. We did'nt play that badly but that's not good enough to win games against the top sides. I still think on our day we can give them a really good match and win the odd encounter but our most likely hope for this season is to finish top six and maybe one of the cups.

I'd say Woodgate will be out till at least Christmas or maybe longer. As far as I know, Dawson is almost ready to return (although he's not always the most dependable).

bae, dawson corluka naughton for saturday? Or will hudd revert to centreback? 4 winnable games up next, lets hope we get a bit of confidence back mid week in the cup. Will GDS ever get a run? (Just seen Bassong was back at the lodge today after getting cleared by head and neck specialist)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

dawson will prob be back , bassong has gotten the all clear today so he will be ok. plus king walked off no probs yesterday so thats only a stage one hamstring problem. usually ok within a week so he could be in the frame also. its not all bad!!

i think naughton should be given a try instead of the apes at right full back.

we really need to revert to 4-4-2 on saturday. pav wasnt even in the squad yesterday. he is gone in january id say

king wont be back saturday, a grade one hamstring strain doesnt stop you in your tracks im afraid, 2 weeks at least. Agree with giving naughton a run.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

    from wikipedia

"Grade one injuries if not put pressure upon can heal in a time period of 2 to 3 days."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

    But this is Ledley King..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

i would say he will play sat unless of course its a lot worse than expected.

Agreed, but given the fact that ledley had to pull up suddenly after he turned to sprint would indicate its greater than grade one unfortunately. With a grade one Hamstring strain the signs may not be present until after the activity is over. Time will tell.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but did anyone else think we were far to fcuking nice on Sunday. Robbie kicking the ball out of play when thay horrible pig was down injured, and yet when we had a player down , they played on, crazy stuff. And i didnt see too many of us going for webb after he made a balls of the pen decision, mans or scousers would have crucified him.
