Recently got a monitor and thinking of increasing no. of tables i am playing, just curious as to how many of you guys play 6+ tables:

If so what game type, e.g. FR, 6max, HU, SNG?

Also what sites do you multi table on? if you play on a site without time banks, how often do you timeout etc.

Anyone play a lot of tables without HUD?

ive played 9 @50nl 6max on ipoker without hud,hem etc but take my advice no need to play more than 6 unless your chasing rake or bonuses etc playing 4-6 i found was fine and more ejoyable and you wouldnt burn out as fast...oh and get hem,hud etc i was playing 4 for a few months so after a while got to know most of the regs but if i was to do it now i wouldnt without hem
if its sngs/mtts your playing then its alot easier to multitable...

How do you guys do this, your trying to make a decision on one table and your hearing pings from other tables, does it not get a bit confusing. New enough to playing so just trying to understand, is it a case of waiting exclusively for premium hands like Kings or Aces and going with them no matter what board texture is like if someone calls your pre-flop raises? Was watching one of Tom Dwans friends (cant think of his name) and he said he plays up to 36 tables at a time which sounds unbeleivably difficult.

Playing too many tables is Winrate Killer #1.

    Ed: I should say I 5-7 table NL 6Max.

Playing too many tables is definitely a winrate killer, whenever I play 6max cash I just try to play as many tables as possible, like 13 tables and steadily lose money, it's a joke.

Descipline yourself to play fewer tables, imo

Experience. The decisions that you were struggling over 6 months ago are instant reflex actions now.

yeah i normally 3-4 table 6max cash. Playing on iPoker at the moment, no timebank sucks, i have to stay away from turbo tables, super frustrating to timeout with a monster hand like FH to blocker riverbets, ughhh!

I turn sound off on some sites if they are too annoying and they offer the option. I don't see myself ever playing more than 6 tbh. Must watch some of anskys 9 tabling vids again just to see how handles playing lots of tables.

I don't mind increasing the number of tables decreasing my winrate as long as it increases my $ per hr.

It's like anything. It takes practice. Obviously the more tables you play the more your winrate is likely to go down. You have to prioritise whether maximising $ per hour is your main goal, whether you want to learn, get used to a level/game etc, whether you are playing purely for enjoyment and so on.

If you want to take multi-tabling seriously then look into mods for the various sites. This is particularly true of Ipoker. A hud is an absolute must to do it well. The difference between an unmodded set-up and say the set-up I would have is astronomical albeit to achieve it I have 3 seperate software programs running in the background to facilitate it. it just saves valuable seconds that can be put to making a decision.

I can play 8-9 tables fairly comfortably and can extend myself to 12 tables if need be although that can get a bit frantic. A year ago I couldn't do do more then 6. Two years ago 4 was my average (slow learner...) Even at 9 tables it's rare you are making more then 1 decision at once and there are times when nothing much happens.

It's probably easier to do it for SNG's then MTT's and finally cash. As SNG's are so close to begin solved there are very few actual decisions that need thought. In saying that 95% of decisions I make are standard. The more you play the more standard spots come, the easier it gets etc.

But personally if you are only a park time player I would ultimately recommend to play as many tables as you enjoy even if it gives up $ per hour. You would get more out of it imo.

I used to multi table the 12/180 + 11/45 turbo tournaments on pokerstars, regularly playing 25+ the hardest part was getting the tables open.

I found the easiest way was to just maximise every screen and have them all stacked on top of each other. You should take a look for BetPot the autohotkey script so you can use your mouse wheel for bet sizing.

I wouldn't recommend playing any games were thought is involved though :D
