Best Programmes on RTE for improving your Irish.

    What are the best programmes on Rnag to improve your Irish?

    The Seo Seachtainne programme on Saturdays is no longer there.

    Splanc on Newstalk is good.

    Any other recommendations?

    It's true, they are almost all native speakers on RnaG who host their own show. If you want to choose a dialect to lean towards it's good to listen to them all before you decide, or otherwise just listen to them all and pick up something new every time.

    Ronan Mac Aodha Bhuí at 3pm is Donegal Irish- he can speak fast but the show is good craic and he has a lot of guests so you will hear other dialects as well.

    If you were say learning Conamara Irish then you can't beat Máirtín Tom Sheáinín - he's on RnaG too at 2pm.

    Cork Irish- Peadar O'Riada has a trad music show at 7pm but there is a lot of music and not so much chat. But then John Spillane has something on Sunday evenings too, not sure what time.

    RTE1 and 2- barely anything- TG4. The news is great- all the dialects are represented.

    Dara O'Cinneide - super show Friday nights on TG4- soft Kerry Irish.
