College cancelled course

Hi my college in Cork cancelled their full time CPA course I was going into P2. It worked out handy for me as I can't do evenings. Now due to cut backs it has finished up I was just wandering if there were any other places that run a day course for the CPA in Cork?

As another option I was thinking of scrapping college altogether. I have the books and stuff but I was just going to go it alone would anyone recommend this or strongly be against this idea if so can you give reasons.

Ive applied for many jobs but I dont see anything coming up. The places I have applied to have sent back letters saying they arnt taking on at the moment but would it be cheeky to write to them to see if they would give me long term work experience with no pay "good idea? bad idea?"

What college is that? I hear that Griffith College do some CPA course alright.

In all honesty it's a tough place out there to find a job and getting into the education system will help better your chances in the future.

    Just my 2 cents

whats your beef with independent colleges? if you read my post i said i did acca.i was making the point that there is the independent colleges option open to the op and that i would reccomend them as a former student. i had liam doran for acca so i cant say how good the acr lecture is but his name is donelly and i know he taught it at f7 for acca so again get your facts right

I recently received a letter from the CPA Institute advertising for an evening course with Independent colleges they are holding them in the Gresham Metropole for some reason. The teachers appear to all be from the Dublin branch of Independent colleges.

As it goes I have decided to go with the correspondence course in the Griffith Colleges as alot of people I spoke to highly recommend them.

I'm still at a loss as to what to do on the job front however as in our current climate it appears that I wont be able to aquire employment. Would it be a waste of my time and a laughable concept to offer my services on a work experience basis (no pay)?

Have you tried bookkeeping jobs? It might help get accountant job if you already have some relevant experience.
