Pity it wasn't the other way round.

    http://www.longfordleader.ie/news/Judge-shot-by-air-pistol.5656261.jp
Judge John Neilan was accidentally shot by an air pistol during a Family Law hearing in Longford earlier this week.

The accident happened when a solicitor was exhibiting an air pistol during the court hearing. The weapon was inadvertently discharged, firing a pellet which struck the judge.

The judge was not seriously injured in the incident and, in fact, it is understood that he continued to hear the court case. The incident occurred during a Family Law hearing on Tuesday in front of around half a dozen shocked witnesses. The media are excluded from Family Law cases and as a result, details of the incident have only emerged today, Thursday.

You would think that the pistol would have been checked to make sure it was empty before being brought into the court!

    I heard about this case.

After the solicitor shot the judge he went "****, it's an airgun" and ran up to the judge and bludgeoned him to death with it!

The same way you do an normal gun. You look down the barrel and pull the trigger to see if there's any bullets in there. Have you learned nothing from Wile E. Coyote?

I've a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be used as an excuse for a furthur clampdown on air pistols, airsoft devices, paint guns and anything else that isn't actually dangerous but can make Fianna Fail look like they care by banning them.

I get the feeling the Longford Leader wouldn't know an air pistol from an airsoft pistol if you bludgeoned them with both for comparison.
If the judge had been shot with an air pistol, he'd have had to adjourn the case while he went about getting a surgeon to dig the pellet out of him. Unless those robes are of something sturdy like kevlar...

If I was a Judge in Longford I'd want a bloody Kevlar Robe.

    And a Throne..
And a Timmy Mallet style Gavel..
    And Concubines...

Wait.. what were we talking about?
    Yea..Judge shot... Terrible
