I have to fly out of Dublin airport regularly and I get sick of paying for taxis. I live in Artane so I'm not that far from it and i only ever bring a small bag. Does anyone know if it's possible to get to the airport by bike? Is there anywhere to lock bikes? thanks.

    Absolutely. :)

Not sure about locking it though.

Just head out along Swords Road.

I've seen bikes parked in the short-term multi-story car park. No idea how safe it is.

It's very easy to get there, I do it regularly following the old airport road... Have never left a bike there though, I am always bringing it with me. I believe they do have parking but don't know how safe it would be if your bike is expensive.

Just take the old road thru Santry, i.e. past the Santry Omniplex SC & Santry stadium, there's a cycle path past the stadium a good bit of the way up to the airport. I've parked a bike in the covered carpark across from the terminal & locked it to a metal barrier where they keep the baggage trolleys. Don't think there's a dedicated bike park though, unless they provide something as part of the new terminal.

There's definitely a small-ish bike park in the short-term car park across from arrivals. I imagine that there's a car park attendant on duty all the time, which means it's probably safer than leaving your bike anywhere in town.

Besides, would bike stealers/bashers be bothered trekking all the way out to the airport to get their fix?!

I e-mailed the airport about this last year, and they confirmed there are a number of places where you can leave your bike. There are a couple of racks in front of the old terminal building, and one near the Gardai station

Select "walking" on Google Maps and it will give you routes suitable for cycling, off motorways and often off main roads too for that matter.
